Artist Ivo Westerlaken writes:
I have been making art since I was born (so it feels). There is always a camera in my hand, or a pencil, a notebook. My senses see forms, rhythms, colors all day. They detect shapes, flows, scents, mass and want to explore, experiment, record and transform. And then the creative explosion: photos, art, poetry, music.
I am basically a non conformist artist, with strong influences by Dada and Surrealism. I work on my new art-forms, free from any academic restrictions. Making experimental music, writing books and articles complements me as an artist. Next to digital collages and photo-graphs I make painting in oils, collages and different types of drawings: pen and ink, pencil.
From early childhood I felt alienated by the world around me. Must be my asperger syndrome.
