"It is your belief system around money that is preventing you from becoming rich and having whatever you so desire," he said with the usual condescending tone.
"Maybe it is, maybe you are right .... " she answered.
"Ah, so you can see it! Good!" he continued. "Awareness of the problem is the first step towards a solution."
"What are you talking about, you massive toss-pot? What problem?"
"You have just indicated that you can see that it is your beliefs around money that prevent you from becoming affluent."
"Well, yes. But that isn't a problem, it is a source of some pride, in fact."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, for instance that it is not all right to indulge in luxury while my fellow humans suffer in abject poverty. That belief. I think I'll keep that one. That's a pretty natty little belief. You know, I could adopt another belief system, say, that of a massively selfish greedy twat who thinks it is all right to spend an amount that would feed three families for a month on the optional extras on a car, but frankly, that belief system is diabolical, and so I don't really want to adopt it. See what I mean? You can swap the words 'belief system' for 'conscience' if you like."
"Ah, that is the mistake so many make. The myth of scarcity. The Universe is abundant and provides enough for everyone, if they would only allow it."
"No offense, mate, but that is absolute bollocks and deep down you know it. But of course it is probably a good way of shutting out the shame of the theft and murder for a while. Of course there probably would be easily enough for everyone and then some to spare if it were not for the compulsive hoarding of both the means of production and the means of exchange by the hopeless addicts whose 'belief system' you are trying to push here. On and on they have to go, more and more to numb the pain of facing up to the reality that all that wealth is built on a foundation of slavery and genocide, as they continue to hoard and stifle the natural flow so that the majority of their own species and the ecosystem in which they live slowly and surely wither and die, until much too late the hoarders realise that they cannot survive without them, and no size of withdrawal from the greed-hoard can turn back the clock."

"Oh, please. Shut up for once with the New Age Excuse For Massive Greed. Of course you can create your own fiction in which your brethren are not starving to death while you eat caviar and truffles and sip champagne at the golf club, but that is just the belief system equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and saying loudly, 'La la la la la la la la, I'm not listening'. It might work for a while, coupled with the analgesic pleasure drugs that the hoarding allows you to purchase, but it can't be shut out indefinitely."

"No buts, Tool Face. You are either a selfish greedy twat or you aren't. Coming up with a new groovy sounding excuse doesn't change anything. You can't fool me, and eventually you will realise you can't fool you either."
