The following questions and answers have all been fished directly from the Thought Pool and typed out while they were still wet and flapping about. The question will likely arise, 'Who is asking the questions? Who is answering?' A very good question! As usual, when we really look closely into it, we have no idea who is doing either.
Q: Does God exist?
A: First go away and get clear what it is that you mean when you say 'exist'. For instance, does James Bond exist? From one perspective, no he doesn't exist, he is a fictional character, but from another perspective he obviously must exist or there could not be a question about him. The fictional character exists. Your question cannot be answered until it is clear what you mean by 'exist'.
Q: I mean REALLY exist. Not a fictional character called God. Is there REALLY a God in existence?
A: First let's try something a little closer to home. Do you exist?
Q: Yes, of course I exist. Here I am in front of you, asking the questions.
A: A body is appearing with sound apparently coming out of its mouth. But where is this 'you' character?
Q: It is controlling the body.
A: Really? What reason is there to suspect that there is an entity controlling the body?
Q: There must be, otherwise it wouldn't do anything. The body is controlled by the brain.
A: Must there? Why? What reason is there to assume that stuff happening requires a controller? Is somone controlling the Earth's orbit right now? Is there an Earth Orbit Manager overlooking that? According to you, there must be! Otherwise it would not happen. A brain is just a part of a body. Still no sign of a 'you' character anywhere. Where is it?
Q: You cannot see it. It is not physical. It is spiritual.
A: You cannot see James Bond right now. He is not physical. He is imaginary. Yet still, a discussion can progress about Mister Bond all day long. Perhaps James Bond isn't imaginary after all. Perhaps James Bond is 'spiritual'. Quite often the word 'spiritual' is used to replace the words 'made up'. It tends to sound considerably more impressive.
Q: What does this have to do with God?
A: Imaginary body controller, imaginary Universe controller, imaginary British secret agent 007. Just the same thought pattern playing out at different levels. Do they exist? Noyes. Yesno.
Q: It is heard from various sources that we create our reality with our thoughts. What do you have to say about that?
A: Where is this 'we' character that owns thoughts? Where is it located? Go fetch this chap for questioning! It is nowhere to be found. The 'thinker' character is itself just another idea. So who is there to create anything with their thoughts? Thought isn't initiated by anyone. It happens by itself, spontaneously, just like any other energy pattern.
It is rather like asserting 'we create our own weather with our weather' or 'we create our own planetary motion with our planetary motion'.
Rather redundant assertions, no?
None of the patterns which appear have an owner.
Q: What will we gain by listening to you?
A: You will gain nothing whatsoever. Quite the contrary. If the listening continues, all will be lost sooner or later. Everything. You will not lose bad, nasty things and keep sweet, lovely, skipping through summer meadows, puppy with big brown eyes, holding loved one tight type things. All will be lost. All of it. Everything.
Now. The door is just over there.
Q: What can we do to become more enlightened?
A: Well, if it will get rid of you and stop you asking these ridiculous questions, then I recommend repeatedly watching re-runs of Cheers. There really isn't anything to be known that is not contained in one of those episodes. It is probably available on DVD. If you can't get Cheers, try Meet the Fockers.
