Zero or one
Was his digital plight,
Impenetrable darkness
Or blinding white light.
Everything-nothing,
Swing from pole to pole,
Unclimbable mountain
Or bottomless hole.
The good and the evil,
The right and the wrong,
Monotonous drum beat,
Instead of a song.
Night and day only,
No eve or mid-morn,
Between two extremes,
Always broken and torn.
No infinite spectra,
No analogue waves,
No pi times r squared,
No spiralling octaves.
